I was working in a room. It was silent (terms of the job) but for the sound of a ticking clock. What I found off-putting, was that the clock I had to watch to time people with, had a second had clicking silently minute by minute at a different time to the loudly ticking clock. It was half a second behind. If I didn't look at it, I was fine, however, it was very disconcerting to look at the clock face and yet hear the tick on the wrong beat, maddening in fact.
It got me to wondering, how much do we fight against time? How much do we try to conform or get others to conform? How often do we go with the flow and let life happen?
