Flying or Dragging?

As a child, waiting for birthdays and Christmas seems to take an eternity, and I'm sure we've all cried out, as well as being asked,

"Are we nearly there yet?" on a journey.

I have been in many situations where I've been watching the clock ticking second by second; each second taking hours; the minute hand barely moving at all, and don't get me started on the hour hand!

Conversely that second hand, I'm sure, skipped several beats and sent the hour hand racing by, and I lose so much time!

"There just aren't enough hours in the day!"

So then, how can one second vary so much and seem so different at different times? Well it's all about perspective.

Time remains constant. We cannot speed it up or slow it down. It's what we do with it that counts and gives us the illusion of it changing.

When it seems to drag, occupy your mind, even if you cannot become more active. Fill it with good thoughts, be thankful for all the good things that have happened to you and maybe see what you can learn from all those events in your life and use the time to plan and refocus.

Don't think about the time you don't have when it's racing away with you, think about all that you have achieved instead. You cannot change time, so embrace it.

Be thankful! Be joyful! Be grateful for life and it's beauty.
