New Start. New Life
At last, I am here again! It's been a long time, I know. I've been away on holiday and have been trying to catch up on so many things since I came back.
I've not been able to do much exercise since before Christmas, until recently. While I was away I managed to get back into the swing of it and so made the decision that I would keep it up when I got home. It is easier said than done, but I have made a start.
In the early 1980's my boyfriend and I decided that we would play badminton every week with another couple. We bought ourselves badminton rackets that cost £18.99 each.
He (now my husband) bought a lighter, more modern one from someone he worked with a few years ago. I've stayed with my trusty old one - until today, that is. I was given some money at Christmas and so decided to splash out on a new one. I cycled into the city and bought one! Even better, it was in the sale so I got more for my money. I cannot believe how much lighter it feels and cannot wait to play on Monday!
On the way back I suddenly spotted a patch of colour at the side of the river bank. I cycled nearer to investigate and got my mobile out to take a photograph. The photograph doesn't do it justice really because they took my breath away; a large bunch of daffodils nestled at the side. I got very muddy, but it was worth it.
Spring flowers are appearing everywhere. I love seeing them.
They remind me that no matter how cold, dark and depressing the winter can seem, the longer, brighter days, colour and beauty always win through.
