Blanket Of White
Blanket of white,
fell day and night,
beautiful glow,
inches of snow.
The silence is golden,
when snow has fallen;
a different kind of sound,
with snow on the ground.
Crunches under your feet,
looks crispy and neat,
sometimes it's danger,
sometimes it's laughter.
We need to take care,
as we venture out there,
best be equipped,
to minimise the slips!
I was walking out in the snow yesterday. I had several layers on, my wellies, and thick socks. The exposed parts of me were very cold, thankfully this was only my face. My legs were cold despite wearing trousers and my top clothes being long and coming quite a way down.
I couldn't help thinking about those less fortunate than me. Homeless, poor...those who cannot heat their homes, or have enough warm clothes to wear.
Do we do enough for others? Do we care for them or do we just judge them and their situations? What can we do to help them?
For each of us, our ability to help others will depend on our own situations. But we can all do something.
